Message and Email Tracking
Sentra uses a wide variety of agents to capture data from many different mail and messaging systems and mail system queues. Using a single Web or Windows console, users can search and track messages sent to single or multiple recipients, across multiple messaging domains and mail servers.

This type of tracking and monitoring is an essential tool for administrators who have to manage today’s complex messaging environments, especially if they are in the secure government, defence and banking environments where monitoring of security, compliance and service level agreements are of such importance.
Sentra can track e-mail messages which use the X.400 and SMTP (Internet) protocols and can also track messages that change protocol mid-flight. Messages can also be tracked when they enter an ACP127 or ACP145 gateway, e.g. prior to being forwarded in a legacy format such as telex. Middleware messaging systems such as WebSphere MQ are also supported.
Queries can be as detailed or simple as a user requires, based upon the information they have to hand. For an e-mail message, typical search details might be Approximate Time Sent, Message Identifier, Originator or Recipient address. As searches are performed against a single database, results from many Message Transfer Agents (MTAs) can be displayed in a single view. Furthermore, this is a much quicker process than manually examining message logs, which may be the only viable alternative.
The message results view provides details of all originated messages that meet the search criteria. A user can then select a particular message to obtain a diagrammatic representation of the route that a message has taken. Users can then drilldown on items in the diagram to identify more detailed recipient and diagnostic information, including all events generated to facilitate delivery (or non-delivery) of a message. Read receipts can also be tracked.
Summary of Message Tracking Component :
- Enables significantly faster message tracking than provided by alternative methods
- Messages can be tracked across multiple messaging systems on multiple platforms, all from a single console
- Integrated with Microsoft Outlook – key users can track their own messages via a “Track Selected Message” toolbar option.
End-to-end delivery and transit time monitoring enables real-time monitoring of Service Level compliance.
